About Martin

Martin was born in South Bank, Cleveland and during his school holidays, he often accompanied his father (Paul Daniels) on engagements, helping out with his magic props behind the scenes.

At the age of seventeen, Martin took the plunge on a career in show business making his debut in a summer season in Newquay. Since then he has never looked back, and has carved a highly successful career out in the entertainment industry.

Martin has appeared in numerous summer season engagements throughout the country, as well as several UK tours with artistes such as Jane McDonald, Lenny Henry, Les Dennis and MC Hammer. He has also appeared in 24 pantomimes and a season at the Prince of Wales Theatre in ‘The Magic Man’ in London’s West End. Martin was also invited to take part in the V.E Day Concert in Hyde Park, attended by HM Queen, Prince Philip, Princess Anne and Princess Margaret, plus an audience of 150,000 others!

In addition to his impressive theatrical credits, Martin is perhaps best known for his many television appearances. He was a presenter of LWT’s “Game for A Laugh” for two series, a game show for Thames TV called “Lingo” and also was presenter on ‘CITV.’ Martin appeared on five series of the ‘BBC’s’ Bafta Award nominated “Les Dennis’ Laughter Show.” .

All this has been interspersed with 5 appearances on the Royal Variety Show and dozens of guest appearances on other television shows, both in the UK and abroad.

Besides being an adept magician, Martin is also a highly accomplished comedian. It is comedy and not magic that is the main content of his shows. Over the past 30 years, he has developed his own stand-up comedy routines, which he has performed at various comedy clubs around the UK, as well as on board the ocean wave on cruise ships.

Martin is also a published author, having penned a book entitled ‘Cunning Stunts’ which was later re-printed by Foulsham publishers as ’50 Best Betcha’s and Bar Gags’ and is still available.

Martin presented his own weekday morning radio show on BBC Radio Lincolnshire 94.9FM covering the whole of the region for two years achieving record breaking listening figures.

He is also a member of the ‘Grand Order Of Water Rats’

Martin performs aboard P&O Cruises with his Cabaret Act of Stand up and Comedy. He has also recently performed Stand up in various comedy clubs around the Country and is about to go on tour.
